Why was HeartStyles developed?
HeartStyles was designed by Christians for Christians. It was by founded by Stephen and Mara Klemich to help people live a more effective and abundant life. HeartStyles assists people to identify what is happening for them in their heart and how that manifests in worldly and Kingdom behaviours, both functional and dysfunctional.

Who should take HeartStyles?
Anyone who wants to live a more effective and abundant Christian life. It is for those seeking to have a deeper understanding of themselves and others and to develop a Godly character that reflects Him. Most Christians are unaware of how their behaviours might be holding them back from succeeding in certain areas of life. HeartStyles assists them in recognising those areas for development. HeartStyles does not change anyone; it only helps people identify what behaviours the Holy Spirit needs to transform or develop further.
What will I learn about myself?
You will learn more about your personal character and how you relate to others through your behaviours. Your behaviours will be identified through 16 "heart styles" that represent 8 effective Kingdom behaviours and 8 ineffective worldly behaviours. HeartStyles will help you become aware of what that behaviour looks like and how it impacts you and others. Your results will be provided in a graph called the HeartStyles Indicator (see sample here). HeartStyles will provide a Personal Development Guide customized for you and how you can transform your behaviours.
Why do I need feedback from friends and family in order to see my results?
The quote, "We judge others by their behaviour, and ourselves by our intentions" is very true! As people, we behave with good intentions, yet we are so often unable to see that our behaviour may not always reflect those intentions. So, to assist in seeing our potential "blind spots", HeartStyles incorporates feedback from three individuals you nominate, who answer questions about you. This is what makes HeartStyles extremely unique as it reveals how others perceive your behaviour, so you can discern what is happening in your character.
What is HeartStyles measuring?
HeartStyles measures behavioural responses. HeartStyles has identified 16 "heart styles" that represent 8 effective Kingdom behaviours and 8 ineffective worldly behaviours. These 16 "heart styles" are displayed in an Indicator graph (see sample here) that displays how you and others perceive your behaviours and how it shapes your character. Your development opportunities will be indicated in red.
What is the HeartStyles Personal Development Guide?
The Personal Development Guide is a comprehensive PDF document which includes your HeartStyles Indicator graph, Personal Snapshot, Areas of Strength and Development Opportunities along with "How To's", Scriptures and an Action Plan.
Is HeartStyles a personality test?
HeartStyles is not a personality test nor a “human resources” tool which boxes and labels people. As Christians, we are not a "personality type" that the world tells us we are, but we are who God tells us we are. The idea of explaining differences in personalities is helpful, but once people participate in a personality profile, they fall in the danger of being labelled as a "type" which can be restrictive in Christianity. Unfortunately, people convince themselves that they are a certain personality and in some cases use this as an excuse not to develop themselves.
Christian wisdom would say that with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can be all things. HeartStyles does not label people rather it identifies how people orientate their life or heart to the Kingdom or the world, and what their behaviour looks like when that happens. People see how at different times they can use all 16 styles. Our renewed mind and heart’s desire is to live "above the line" and reflect the pattern of the Kingdom.
Is HeartStyles statistically accurate?
Yes! After a decade of research and development, a factor analysis and heuristic validation of the HeartStyles Questionnaire has been statistically validated by Anderson, D. & Trey, S., (2008) in an unpulblished research report by the Department of Curriculum Studies, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. This means that your results in conjunction with the results of three others are statistically accurate and represent a thorough examination of your personal behaviour.

Does HeartStyles offer ministry to churches?
Yes! Stephen and Mara Klemich offer HeartStyles as a ministry to churches around the world. The core is a grace and healing ministry that helps people identify their dysfunction in behavioural outcomes and utilise the Holy Spirit for healing. The blend of psychological models and Biblical principles makes their teaching fresh, relevant and practical yet giving plenty of room for the Holy Spirit to move and give God's revelation and healing of the heart.
The fruit of this ministry is conclusive enough that Stephen and Mara have developed a Facilitators Equipping Course for pastors, counsellors, ministry and business leaders in order to effectively deliver HeartStyles in the local church, schools, businesses and organisations.
Does HeartStyles offer ministry to Pastors and Ministers?
Yes! HeartStyles does offer ministry to pastors and ministers. Stephen and Mara have a very real understanding of the issues faced by leaders and people in the Body of Christ. There is a growing acceptance in the church to provide ministers and pastors with much-needed individual coaching and mentoring. They have a confidential forum to discuss the issues they face, and be ministered to with "no strings attached". Through HeartStyles, Stephen and Mara provide individual leadership coaching and/or counselling, and group programmes where appropriate.
