Personal & Organisational Information

Personal and organisational information about visitors to our site is collected only when knowingly and voluntarily submitted. HeartStyles does require users to register to access the online Indicator and its associated features.

In order to use the HeartStyles Indicator and its associated features, a survey participant and organisation’s administrator must first complete the registration process. During registration a survey participant and organisational administrator is required to give their contact information (such as name and contact details). This information is used to register the survey participant and organisation as part of the ongoing research of the HeartStyles Indicator, to ensure the integrity of the data submitted and that data is used only once as part of the population group for the statistical analysis. It is optional for the survey participant and organisation administrator to provide demographic information and unique identifiers where requested.

All responses to our HeartStyles Indicator will be statistically analysed to help us improve the accuracy of the questionnaire. After a decade of research and development, a factor analysis and heuristic validation of the HeartStyles Questionnaire has been statistically validated by Anderson, D. & Trey, S., (2008) in an unpublished research report by the Department of Curriculum Studies, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. This means that the individual result in conjunction with the results of three others, are statistically accurate and represent a thorough examination of personal behaviour. When the HeartStyles website generates a collective behaviour Indicator, this Indicator has been formed by averaging the Indicators of those in the group that is represents.

We use the survey participant information to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in ongoing statistical validation studies for the HeartStyles Indicator and its associated features. These analyses always concern the answers of large numbers of people, and are not analysed about any individual person.

Use of Information

All personal and organisational information collected on the forms contained on this website are used for the purposes of developing research and may in the future be used to potentially send newsletters, updates and reminders to the end user. You will have the option to opt out of these newsletters/reminders. We do not sell or provide information about you, such as your email address or questionnaire results, to any third party. We do not share this information with other outside parties except the statisticians working on refining the questionnaire.

Disclosure

Apart from where you have consented or disclosure is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was submitted, personal and organisational information may be disclosed in special situations where we have reason to believe that doing so is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against anyone damaging, injuring, or interfering (intentionally or unintentionally) with our rights or property, users, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities.

Security

We endeavour to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of personal and organisational information submitted to our sites, and we review and update our security measures in light of current technologies. Our Webmaster through the Internet Service Provider makes a record of your visit and logs generic non-identifiable information relating to the technologies used to access the site for statistical purposes, such as the following information the user's server address, the user's top level domain name (eg. .com), the date and time of visit to the site, the pages accessed and documents downloaded, and the type of browser used.
